Will PARP inhibitors protect dopamine-making neurons in humans? These same drugs are currently undergoing clinical trials for breast, ovarian and colorectal cancer, and melanoma. There is reason to believe they may be helpful in Parkinson’s disease as well. Unfortunately, any clinical trials are a long way away.

Can you please elaborate on what PARP inhibitors are? Their use for breast, ovarian, colorectal cancer and melanoma and their potential for use as neuroprotectors?
Does their utility ressemble the one found in Tasigna (nilotinib)?
    Thank you
